Synthesis · shipping · cost per base
DNA cost calculator
Compare a fragment or a whole batch across linear DNA and cloned plasmids. Shipping is charged per shipment, not per construct.
Your sequences
Quantity means separately purchased units, not how many experiments use one fragment. Enter full ordered length, or add the missing ends using “Extra bases.” Each vendor option prices the entire batch independently.

Each row is a separate hypothetical batch.
Cells show cost per purchased unit and cents per ordered base. Uses shipping, shipment count, and pricing options below. Lengths here already include all added ends.

Pricing options & assumptions
- Twist fragments: 300–500 bp: $35; 501–1,800 bp: $0.07/bp; 1,801–3,200 bp: $0.08/bp; 3,201–5,000 bp: $0.09/bp.
- GenScript fragments: user-supplied $0.09/bp, editable above; saved range 200–3,000 bp. Minimum size at the short end needs quote confirmation.
- FLASH plasmids: 1–800 bp: $89; 801–1,500 bp: $139; 1,501–2,300 bp: $189; 2,301–3,000 bp: $339. Includes synthesis, cloning, and default 4 µg plasmid preparation, subject to sequence/vector eligibility.
- Twist clonal: low/medium rates $0.09, $0.13, and $0.18/bp; high-complexity rates $0.12, $0.18, and $0.23/bp for 501–1,800, 1,801–3,200, and 3,201–7,000 bp. Add $35/$55/$75 for cloning/expression/custom vector. At 300–500 bp, bundled totals are $80/$100/$120 (low/medium) or $95/$115/$135 (high).
- Whole-fragment brackets: a tier's rate applies to every ordered base. Exact boundaries follow the saved snapshot and need checkout confirmation.
- Shipping: GenScript $49 is user supplied, budgeted once per shipment. Enter Twist shipping when known. Synthesis-only subtotals are never presented as delivered totals.
- Scope: no automatic splitting or packing, no complexity or sequence validation, and no live quote lookup. Tax, vector setup, yield upgrades, primers, in-house cloning, labor, and sequencing costs are excluded. A clonal product saves cloning only if its delivery vector meets your requirements.
